We are currently in the process of creating a documentary about how the education system in Ohio failed to protect students from sexual assault and the unique effects this had on Black male students from a low socioeconomic class. Through this documentary, we are hoping to bring light to the issue and create a platform for conversation and change.

We firmly believe that healing becomes a rite of passage within the battles, providing a powerful and impactful experience for youth as they navigate their personal and collective journeys. This is why

Emotions Physical Theatre organizes numerous dance battles across the New York State area. Our hip-hop battles serve as a transformative platform for youth, fostering the growth and development of self-identity, emotional control, and community connection. In this space, young individuals channel their aggression into healthy and productive outlets, utilizing dance as a means of self-expression.

Through battles and workshops, participants delve into the rich history and cultural contributions of hip-hop to American culture, while also exploring its role in combating systemic racism.

The black boy healing project dance concert

Through our week-long events, we aim to bring attention to the issues faced by black men and boys today and provide them with resources and support. During this time, we have workshops, classes, and performances all centered around black male healing. We also have 6 choreographers and 10 male dancers who are part of the project. It is our goal to spark conversation about black men in healing and bring awareness to the challenges black men and boys endure. Join us to help make a difference in the lives of black men and boys
